BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs

Tim Brown is an Assistant Professor in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Oklahoma State University. Tim obtained his BSc in Electronics Engineering Physics from the University of Tulsa (2014) and his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Texas A&M University under Prof. Patrick Shamberger (2019). After postdoctoral work under Prof. R. Stanley Williams at Texas A&M and Suhas Kumar at Sandia-California he has newly joined the Electrical Engineering department as Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University.

In his research, Tim has leveraged his multidisciplinary career to investigate central questions in neuromorphic and memristor circuits at the boundary of physics, materials, and electrical engineering: Which materials and devices are capable of useful artificial neuron behaviors? How do we intentionally design desired dynamics into such systems?
