Summary

The School of Fire, Construction and Emergency Management at Oklahoma State University is a newly structured and dynamic school—officially established in 2025—that brings together three complementary programs: fire protection & safety engineering technology, construction engineering technology, and fire & emergency management administration. This school offers a robust set of degrees: ABET-accredited bachelor’s programs in fire protection safety and construction, plus master’s and doctoral programs in emergency management. The Fire Protection & Safety Engineering Technology prograam prepares students to assess and mitigate hazards—from fire and industrial risks to toxic materials—using solid grounding in math, science, and regulatory systems. The Construction Engineering Technology program gives students hands-on experience in both building and heavy/highway construction, backed by real-world internships and a perfect job placement rate for graduates. On the graduate side, the Fire & Emergency Management Administration program is nationally recognized—dating back to the 1990s—and is designed to develop leaders in fire service, EMS, homeland security, and disaster management through coursework in policy, strategic administration, leadership, and counter?terrorism. Together, these programs reflect OSU’s commitment to building expertise in the built environment, safety, and public service.
