    Colter Chitwood is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management at Oklahoma State University (OSU). Broadly, his research is focused on population ecology and predator-prey dynamics of big game species and wildlife habitat management in forested systems. He teaches Wildlife Management Applications and Planning and Wildlife Management for Game Species. He is active in The Wildlife Society (TWS), including serving as the Faculty Advisor for the OSU student chapter of TWS.

    Craig Davis is a Professor and currently holds the Bollenbach Chair in Wildlife Management at Oklahoma State University.     Sam Fuhlendorf is currently a Regents Professor and holds the Groendyke Chair in Wildlife Conservation at Oklahoma State University. Current research is generally focused on conservation of grassland landscapes and the wildlife that live on those lands.     My research interests include identifying mechanisms that determine where and what domesticated ungulates graze. I am specifically interested in individual behavioral differences that are consistent in multiple contexts and limit an animals' ability to adapt in varying environments. The effects of differences in personality on grazing distribution, dam reproductive efficiency, and offspring performance are also areas where I focus because of their ecological and economic importance. I also research methods to manipulating which plant species are grazed (targeted grazing) through specific supplements, grazing systems, species selection (cattle, goat, sheep), and management techniques. My goal is to help livestock producers select animals whose behaviors fit best with management objectives.

    My research program focuses primarily on addressing and understanding the effects of various management practices on plant and animal populations and communities within rangeland ecosystems of the Great Plains. Native rangelands, grasslands, and pasturelands in Oklahoma as well as throughout the central and southern Great Plains are under new threats from invasion by exotic and native species and exurban sprawl, as well as traditional challenges associated with livestock and wildlife management. My primary research goals are to further evaluate effects of management practices (e.g. grazing, patch burning, herbicide application, revegetation) on invasive species in Oklahoma grasslands, and to elucidate abiotic (e.g. fire, precipitation), plant-plant and plant-animal interactions that might be involved in limiting invasions of native systems by various invasive species. Ultimately, my research goals are to establish collaborations with other researchers throughout the US and northern Mexico (i.e. Chihuahua) and continue to collaborate with researchers at OSU in order to conduct research whose results can be influential in the development and application of proper (and adoptable) land management practices.

    Jim is a federal Research Fisheries Biologist and is the Leader of the Oklahoma Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. Jim also serves as a Adjunct Professor in the Department of Natural Resources Ecology and Management.

    Research Interests:

    My research focuses on management-driven questions related to fisheries management, land-use effects on fishes, and effects of invasive species on aquatic communities. I primarily work in stream ecosystems, but also in lakes and reservoirs as well. I am particularly interested in the identification and management of black bass diversity and the utility of fish otoliths to provide information useful for conservation, especially at early-life history stages.

    Jim is a federal Research Fisheries Biologist and is the Leader of the Oklahoma Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. Jim also serves as a Adjunct Professor in the Department of Natural Resources Ecology and Management.

    Welcome to the Loss Lab! We study multiple aspects of global change ecology and management, including effects of climate change on wildlife and habitats, distributions and effects of invasive species, the role of wildlife and land cover change in vector-borne disease transmission, and direct sources of human-caused wildlife mortality like predation by free-ranging cats and bird collisions with structures (e.g., buildings, energy infrastructure & vehicles). Birds are the focus of much of our work, but we also study plants, invertebrates, and wildlife more broadly.

    Research Interests:

    My lab studies multiple aspects of global change ecology and management. Global change consists of climate change as well as other large-scale human-related impacts on the environment. The spread of invasive species, the emergence of infectious diseases, the habitat alteration due to urbanization and other land use and land cover changes, and incidental wildlife mortality associated with human activities are all types of global change.

    Our research is question, issue, and concept driven and applies principles of conservation biology, urban ecology, invasion biology, disease ecology, and landscape ecology. Birds are the focus of much of our work, but we also study plants, invertebrates, and wildlife in general.

    We currently lead and collaborate on projects addressing: (1) human-caused wildlife mortality, including cat predation, and bird collisions with buildings and energy infrastructure, (2) impacts of invasive earthworms on soil microbes, plants, and animals in forests and grasslands, (3) the ecology of olfaction as it relates to animal habitat selection and foraging, (4) the urban landscape ecology of tick-borne diseases, and (5) the habitat ecology and effects of climate change on the endangered Red-cockaded Woodpecker.

    Dr. Moeller is a Research Assistant Professor at OSU. She is a quantitative ecologist with a research focus on population dynamics and the management and conservation of wildlife species. Anna develops new statistical tools for demographic parameter estimation and population modeling, and she applies these tools in field research projects on a variety of species. Her research addresses pressing ecological questions, and the tools she develops can be used to test basic ecological hypotheses and inform management decisions.

He is past-president of the State College (PA) Bird Club, Payne County Audubon Society, and Oklahoma Ornithological Society. He is the current President of the Wilson Ornithological Society. Originally from central New York, Tim's career took him to Virginia and Pennsylvania before taking a position with the Department of Zoology in 2003. In 2006, he was a founding member of the department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management at OSU.

    Research Interests:

    I provide teaching and research in the areas of sportfish management and ecology. I teach classes in fishery management at both undergraduate and graduate level, a fisheries techniques class at both undergrad and graduate level, and a class in advanced modeling methods. My research centers on issues related to sportfish management in southern reservoirs and includes sampling methods as well as approaches for enhancing fisheries through habitat manipulation or harvest management.
