Blake Wilson is an associate professor and is appointed to the Hitch Family Professorship in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences at Oklahoma State. Blake has a spilt research and teaching appointment within the Department. His primary teaching responsibilities are to instruct the Applied Animal Nutrition, Applied Animal Nutrition Lab, and Stocker and Feedlot Cattle Management classes. He has also taught Peer-Led Team Learning in Animal Science, Animal Management Techniques, and Introduction to the Animal Sciences while at Oklahoma State. Blake's research program is centered heavily on the interactions between nutrition and health in high-risk receiving calves. Other general research areas Blake remains focused on include: the evaluation of currently accepted technologies and management and production practices, improving calf performance and health in the stocker and receiving phases, improving cattle efficiency and well-being during the finishing period, and the utilization of nontraditional feeds and innovative technologies and management practices to improve overall beef production.
