TEACHING SUMMARY

I have instructed several courses from freshmen undergaduates to graduate students. Some classes are as large as 200 students and some classes are small as five. I have taught in-person classes and virtual classes, both synchronous and asynchronous mode. I developed two online courses and two new courses. Some courses I have taught include Introduction to Engineering, Introduction to Chemical Process Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering, and Reaction Engineering. I coordinated the chemical engineering graduate seminar series for fifteen semesters, during which invited presentations increased from six per semester to 15 per semester. I am the solo author of the textbooks "Principles of Biomedical Engineering" (Artech Publisher), now in its second edition and " Principles of Material and Energy Balances in Chemical Processes". I am a co-editor of "Role of Chitosan and Chitosan-Based Nanomaterials in Plant Sciences" (Academic Press).

I have published six peer-reviewed articles in engineering education journals, which are related to innovative teaching. I was a member of the organizing committee to the 2012 ASEE Summer School for Faculty Training.  I volunteer as an ABET Program Evaluator (PEV) representing  AIChE, Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) and ASEE professional societies. I was elected to be an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) (2023- 2028) Commissioner.

I have organized/advised the OSU chem-e-car contest for many years and participated in the national contest. He advised OSU Indian Student Association for 5 years from 2004 to 2008. I served as the founding advisor to Chemical Engineering Graduate Student Association and served as the advisor until 2016. I received numerous awards including ChE Undergraduate Student Teacher of the Year in 2006, ChE Graduate Teacher of the Year three times, CEAT Advisor of the Year, OSU Advisor of the year, OSU Faculty Phoenix Award, and 2011 AIChE Student Chapter Advisor of the Year.
