TEACHING SUMMARY

Bridging Creative Practice & Empirical Strategy

As an educator, Sujin Kim bridges the gap between creative visual execution and rigorous, data-driven strategy. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in experiential learning, empowering students to transition from intuitive creators to analytical communication strategists. At Oklahoma State University, she teaches courses in media planning, interactive design, and strategic campaign development. In her classrooms, students do not just design layouts. They learn to justify their creative decisions using user experience (UX) principles, cognitive psychology, and quantitative metrics. Her commitment to mentorship is highlighted by her role in advising student competition teams for the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC). Through highly immersive projects, she guides students in translating client requirements into sophisticated, ethically grounded media plans and cross-platform content strategies. By integrating emerging technologies and artificial intelligence tools into her curriculum, she prepares the next generation of strategic communicators to lead with both aesthetic precision and analytical depth.
