    This course covers the fundamentals of ecology and evolution as they pertain to microbes, while also emphasizing the extensive diversity of the microbial world. Students in this course will receive instruction in the underlying principles of phylogenetics and microbial phylogeny, of microbe-microbe, microbe-host, and microbe-environment interactions, and of key principles of evolutionary theory as they apply to microbes. May not be used for degree credit with MICR 5013.Prerequisite(s): MICR 2123 and BIOL 3023.
