TEACHING SUMMARY

With over 25 years of K12 experience that include elementary classroom teacher, campus reading specialist and district literacy specialist, Sheri Vasinda is currently the Alice Phillips Endowed Professor of Elementary Education in the School of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Sciences. She teaches literacy education courses at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. Her teaching interests include leveraging technology for amplified and transformative learning and the effect sizes of teacher-student relationships and classroom discussion. She has received several teaching awards including the K12 Teacher of the Year at the campus and district level (Allen, TX), the College of Education Teaching Award, the OSU Regents Distinguished Teaching Award, and the College of Education and Human Sciences Global Education Faculty Excellence Award.
