Extension Activities:
100% Extension appointment in 4-H and Youth Programs. Shelley works with students and teachers around the state, helping to incorporate gardening into school curriculum. She develops and leads educator classes and workshops for professional development credit, is the state coordinator for the Junior Master Gardener program, and provides JMG training for interested educators. In charge of recruitment for the department, Shelley attends and gives presentations around the state at career days and college fairs; coordinates the Oklahoma State Regents' Summer Academy for horticulture and landscape architecture (Camp T.U.R.F.); coordinates several majors for Grandparent University; and participates in many youth science events such as ScienceFest, EPSCOR's Women in Science conference, 4-H RoundUp, and H2Oklahoma.
