BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs

My name is Sabiha Parveen and I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Oklahoma State University (OSU). I completed my undergraduate degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Hearing Handicapped in 2007. I completed my doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) in 2013. I first joined as a Visiting Assistant Professor at OSU-Tulsa in August 2013. Starting fall 2014, I joined the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at OSU.

Research Interests:

My current areas of interest include:
1. Examine benefits of community-based multidisciplinary education and intervention programs for people with Parkinson Disease (PD) and their families
2. Understanding of current unmet needs, existing knowledge, and barriers of service delivery for people with PD and their families
3. Benefits of community-based programs for people with and without cognitive deficits
4. Multicultural issues in Speech-Language Pathology
5. Scholarship of teaching and learning in Communication Sciences and Disorders
