Robert Lonsinger

Rob is a federal Research Wildlife Biologist and is an Assistant Unit Leader of the Oklahoma Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. Rob also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Natural Resources Ecology and Management.

Research Interests:

Rob is an ecologist that applies quantitative methods to investigate wildlife, primarily focusing on species of management interest, carnivore ecology, and predator-prey dynamics. Rob strives to conduct research that advances our understanding of ecological processes and provides managers with the insights necessary to improve species conservation and management. Rob often employs conservation genetics, occupancy modeling methods, and capture-recapture frameworks to quantify population dynamics and assess population risk. Rob is always interested in evaluating alternative monitoring approaches and identifying methods to optimize sampling to reduce costs without impacting data reliability.
