Principles and theory of safe laboratory practice and experimentation. Techniques for developing and optimizing plant sample acquisition, extraction and analysis protocols. Theory of operation and maintenance of common laboratory instrumentation (pH measurement, solid and liquid analytical measurement, temperature measurement, spectrophotometry, HPLC, GC). Laboratory provides hands-on experience for integrated protocol development and instrument use.
