BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs

Dr. Matteo Minghetti is an Associate Professor at the Department of Integrative Biology at Oklahoma State University. He obtained his PhD in Ecotoxicology from the University of Stirling in the United Kingdom. During his three postdoctoral appointments, Dr. Minghetti studied transcriptional regulation of lipid metabolism in Atlantic Salmon (University of Stirling), the use of primary gill cultures for environmental biomonitoring (Kings College London), and the mechanisms of toxicity of metal nanoparticles in intestinal fish cells (Eawag – The Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology). His group focuses in Fish Physiology and Ecotoxicology. Current projects include studies of toxicity and bioavailability of metals and emergent contaminants (e.g., nanoparticles, microplastics.) in fish. His lab collaborates with a diverse group of scientists including environmental engineers and geologists to unveil toxicity mechanisms.
