TEACHING SUMMARY

Dr. Stewart began her career as a high school Algebra teacher for three years in Ohio. She also spent two years as an adjunct instructor at Bowling Green State University, teaching mathematics methods courses for preservice secondary and middle school teachers. Over the last four years, Dr. Stewart has spent time teaching both elementary and secondary preservice teachers, focusing on mathematics methods. When working with future mathematics teachers, her main goals are to help them develop their capacity to be responsive to students, improve their instruction through reflection, and become change agents in a field of education.
