BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs
Lyndsee Bell is a passionate actor, singer, and educator in Theater Arts, currently serving as a Professor of Musical Theatre Voice at Oklahoma State University. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theater Vocal Pedagogy from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts with an emphasis in Acting Performance from San Francisco State University. At OSU, Lyndsee teaches Voice for the Actor, Musical Theatre Vocal Styles, and co-teaches Acting for Musical Theatre, alongside mentoring a vibrant studio of Musical Theatre and Industry majors.
With nearly a decade of experience in the California Bay Area theater community, Lyndsee has made significant contributions both on stage and as an educator. Notable performance credits include The Doctor in Vinegar Tom by Caryl Churchill (Shotgun Players), Fiona in Shrek the Musical (Pied Piper Players Theatre), Olga in Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov (The Exit Theater), and Pennywise in Urinetown the Musical (San Francisco State University).
Lyndsee’s teaching career began during her undergraduate studies, where she first coached dancers vocally for department musicals in exchange for dance training. She has since worked as a Teaching Artist and Program Director at Pied Piper Players Theatre, a guest artist for the 2017 California State University Summer Arts Program, and as a graduate instructor for Boston Conservatory’s Voice for Non-Majors course. At Oklahoma State University, she continues to build a strong foundation for students, with a focus on integrating vocal technique with performance skills, while also fostering interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues in the Music and Theatre Schools.
She currently serves as the Director of Communications for NATS-Boston (National Association of Teachers of Singing), where she plays an integral role in managing chapter communications and coordinating events. In 2024, she presented her research titled "The Effects of Pelvic Floor Related Cues on the Experienced Ease of Singing" at The Voice Foundation Symposium.
Lyndsee’s teaching philosophy blends technical mastery with artistic storytelling. Through the integration of diverse acting methodologies, contemporary vocal techniques, and evidence-based pedagogy, she empowers students to cultivate their voices and deliver authentic, compelling performances. Her approach combines bodywork, acting, and vocal technique, equipping students with the tools to excel both in their training and on stage.
