Kelly Dunn

Dr. Dunn’s teaching focuses on preparing healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based, compassionate care for people with substance use disorders. As Addiction Medicine Course Director and fellowship core faculty at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences, she teaches medical and physician assistant students, residents, fellows, and practicing clinicians. Her educational work spans clinical supervision, curriculum development, continuing medical education, and statewide telementoring through Project ECHO.

She emphasizes practical clinical skills, critical appraisal of emerging treatments—including GLP-1–based medications and brain stimulation—and the integration of addiction care across healthcare settings. Central to her teaching is reducing stigma, using person-centered language, and helping learners recognize their role in improving access to treatment. She draws on her experience in clinical care, research, advocacy, and program development to prepare learners to lead improvements in both patient care and healthcare delivery.
