TEACHING SUMMARY

In addition to my scholarship through research, my scholarship of instruction focuses on equipping future generations of human service providers to effectively, compassionately, and ethically engage and serve vulnerable populations. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oklahoma and American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) Approved Supervisor, I spent 14 years (2001-2021) as part of the core faculty for the Commission on Accreditation of Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) accredited MFT master's degree program at OSU. My resident faculty instruction efforts focused on establishing a solid systems theory based, trauma-informed, and culturally competent foundation as well as strong clinical skills and habits among master's level students entering the MFT field.
