I have been at OSU since 1994, coming directly out of my PhD program at Ohio State. I was hired as an Economic Geographer and to teach quantitative courses; my research interests have expanded far beyond Economic Geography but I continue to teach and do research with quantitative (mostly statistical) methods.

Research Interests:

My research interests vary broadly; early in my career I did a number of works on professional sports stadium location patterns in the U.S., then in the early 2000s I did a lot of transportation studies (funded by the Oklahoma Transportation Center) on the impacts of bypasses as well as accident location analysis. More recently I have done a number of studies loosely grouped as communications or aviation -- cell phone diffusion, access to low power TV, Facebook expansion, air transportation issues like radio frequency overlaps and pilot shortages, drone ownership, and other eclectic topics.
