It emphasizes the problems and challenges the process of globalization poses to national economies. The first part of the course presents the main theories of international trade and their relevance to explaining current global trade patterns. The second part of the course examines the foreign exchange markets. It covers various international financial issues such as global current account imbalances, the role of the dollar in international financial markets and trade finance. Same course as ECON 5603.Prerequisite(s): Honors College participation.
