BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs

Professor John Phillips is acting as Interim Head for the School of Architecture.

John received his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (1990) and Master of Architectural Engineering (1991) from Oklahoma State University, and practiced as a structural engineer for nine years in California, Oklahoma, and Texas before returning to OSU to teach.

Much of Professor Phillips' scholarship and creative activities relate to teaching in the Integrative Design Studio, with topics including multidisciplinary collaborations between students as well as the increasing use of BIM in the process of building systems design. He is part of the CEAT Undergraduate Research Scholars Program where he mentors students in their undergraduate research. He serves on the Architectural Engineering Institute Academic Council.
