This course will provide students with an understanding of the beef production industry in the United States. Students will gain an understanding of the importance of beef production to the US and global food production, the structure and function of the US beef industry, and the role of a veterinarian in beef production medicine. The course will be a combination of lecture and discussion format. If possible, the course will also include field trips to visit examples of the various segments of the beef industry.Prerequisite(s): Second-year or third-year standing in the College of Veterinary Medicine.
