Joanna Omega Mashunkashey-Shadlow is a Teaching Professor and licensed clinical child psychologist in the Department of Psychology at Oklahoma State University Tulsa campus. She is a member of the Osage Nation. She serves as the Society of Indian Psychologists delegate to the American Psychological Association Council of Representatives. Dr. Shadlow completed her PhD in Clinical Child psychology and her MA in Indigenous Nations Studies at the University of Kansas in 2007.
Research Interests:
Research interests: Native American health and health disparities, specifically what mechanisms contribute to the Native American pain disparity (e.g., diabetes risk, structural racism/discrimination). Recent publications appear in the Journal of Behavioral Medicine, Journal of Pain, Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, and Ethnicity and Health
