BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs
A native of Norman, OK, Dr. LaBar earned her BS, MS, and PhD in Environmental Science at the University of Oklahoma. After finishing her degrees, she did a postdoctoral fellowship in Environmental Engineering at Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA, with a short stint before that working with a consulting firm, Biomost Inc., in the Pittsburgh area. Prior to coming back to Oklahoma in 2022, Dr. LaBar was an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at Centenary University in northwest New Jersey for four years. Dr. LaBar's past and current research focus on remediating the impacts of historic mining activities on water quality and aquatic habitats. One of the primary goals of Dr. LaBar's teaching and research is to perform and mentor work that will have immediate and positive consequences in our communities.
