BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs
Dr. Watts is a Teaching Assistant Professor for the School of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Sciences in the College of Education and Human Sciences. Her public education experience includes serving eight years as an elementary and secondary special education teacher and nine years as an elementary and secondary assistant principal and instructional coach. Prior to joining STLES as a lecturer, she served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for three years while earning her PhD in Education.
Research Interests:
Dr. Watts' research interests include curriculum studies and educational leadership. Specifically, her work focuses on pre-service teacher preparation and graduate instruction and program methods, new teacher mentorship, teacher leadership and advocacy, school reform, and student special populations advocacy.
