BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs
Craig M. Freeman is Interim Vice Provost for OSU-Tulsa and Dean of the College of Professional Studies at Oklahoma State University. He previously served as an Assistant Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences and as the Director of the School of Media & Strategic Communications at OSU.
Craig focuses his research on media education, media literacy, advertising regulation and freedom of expression. He teaches a variety of classes at Oklahoma State, including Media Law, Media Ethics, Media Writing, Reporting, Business Journalism and Entrepreneurial Media. He has earned several awards for teaching excellence.
Craig is a practicing attorney, with experience litigating Constitutional issues in both state and federal courts. He is a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court.
Craig served as a host of "Louisiana Public Square," an award-winning public affairs program. Prior to his teaching career, Craig worked as a producer and assignment editor for a television station owned and operated by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). He also worked as an editor and reporter for several trade magazines and weekly newspapers.
