BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs

Dr. Richmond works in the field of algebraic combinatorics and algebraic geometry. In particular, he is interested in discrete structures that naturally arise in the study of algebraic varieties and how the combinatorial information on these structures correspond to geometric properties on the varieties.

Dr. Richmond earned his B.A. in mathematics from Colgate University in 2000 and his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. Before joining the math department at Oklahoma State University, he was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Oregon from 2008-2010 and a post-doctoral researcher at the University of British Columbia from 2010-2014.

Dr. Richmond is currently the Director of Graduate Studies in mathematics at OSU.
