Eduardo Teixeira

Eduardo V. Teixeira works in nonlinear partial differential equations, free boundary problems, the calculus of variations, and nonlinear analysis. He earned his Ph.D. in 2005 from the University of Texas at Austin under the supervision of Luis A. Caffarelli, followed by a postdoctoral appointment at Rutgers University.

From 2008 to 2017, he held faculty positions in Brazil, where he played a central role in consolidating one of the most influential schools of Partial Differential Equations in Latin America. In 2017, he joined the University of Central Florida, expanding both his research program and his academic leadership. In 2025, he was appointed Grayce B. Kerr Professor of Mathematics at Oklahoma State University.

His work has received broad international recognition, including the MCA Prize (2013), the IMU–ICTP Ramanujan Prize (2017), election to the Brazilian National Academy of Sciences (2015), and the title of Honorary Citizen of the State of Ceará (2023).

Teixeira has extensive editorial experience and serves in leading roles across several prominent international journals. His editorial appointments include:

He has authored an extensive and influential body of work published in many of the leading journals in mathematics. He has supervised more than ten Ph.D. students and numerous postdoctoral researchers, many of whom now hold academic positions around the world. His research continues to shape modern analysis and the theory of nonlinear partial differential equations.
