Dani Kirsch

Dr. Dani Kirsch is a Research Data Services Librarian in Research & Learning Services at the Oklahoma State University Library. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Southeast Missouri State University and earned a Ph.D. in Integrative Biology at Oklahoma State University. Her doctoral research focused on predator-prey ecology, risk assessment, and reproduction. She has been an avid R user since 2016 and has extensive experience instructing workshops on various topics in R for both novice and intermediate learners.

Research Interests:

In my library work, I am pursuing projects related to assessing research data sharing and reuse, specifically at OSU. In particular, I am interested in locating, extracting, and utilizing scholarly metadata from sources such as DataCite and Wikidata.  My doctoral research was centered in predator-prey ecology, with an emphasis on risk assessment and its impacts on behavior, physiology, and reproduction. My dissertation focused on the perception of risk and safety, chronic and acute risk exposure, and the effects of predation risk exposure timing on freshwater snails.
