Dan Shoup

I provide teaching and research in the areas of sportfish management and ecology. I teach classes in fishery management at both undergraduate and graduate level, a fisheries techniques class at both undergrad and graduate level, and a class in advanced modeling methods. My research centers on issues related to sportfish management in southern reservoirs and includes sampling methods as well as approaches for enhancing fisheries through habitat manipulation or harvest management.

Research Interests:

My research centers primarily on inland sportfish management. I have conducted research on a wide range of topics, but most projects center on approaches that improve accuracy or precision of fishery assessments, the effects of turbidity on predator-prey interactions in aquatic systems, and catfish sampling, ecology, and management. I have also conducted several projects looking at better harvest management options for specific fisheries.
