    This course introduces the usage of computer software for the simulation and experimental testing of thermal systems and their components. Specifications of sensors and test plans based on uncertainty calculation as well as HVAC controls are introduced.Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing or consent of instructor; MAE 3524 or equivalent.

    This course covers the modeling, analysis, and design of vapor compression refrigeration systems applied to air-conditioning and refrigeration applications. There will be an emphasis on practical understanding of components, system integration, and system design. This includes analysis and selection of compressors, heat exchangers and expansion devices as well as the integration of these components into system.Prerequisite(s): A grade of 'C' or higher in MAE 3524.
