April Golliver-Mohiuddin

Mezzo-Soprano April Golliver-Mohiuddin is recognized for her expressive artistry and compelling stage presence in both operatic and concert repertoire. As Professor of Voice at Oklahoma State University, she is equally dedicated to performance and pedagogy, mentoring the next generation of singers while maintaining an active national performing career. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University.

Celebrated for her rich mezzo-soprano timbre and interpretive depth, Golliver-Mohiuddin has appeared with opera companies and orchestras throughout the United States, including Tulsa Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Wichita Grand Opera, Louisiana Opera, and Mobile Opera. She has also collaborated with ensembles such as the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Canterbury Voices, the Tulsa Signature Symphony, and the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus, bringing her artistry to audiences across the country.

A sought-after concert soloist, her repertoire includes major choral–orchestral works such as Requiem and Coronation Mass by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Mass in C Major and Choral Fantasy by Ludwig van Beethoven; Symphony No. 2 in C minor by Gustav Mahler; Lord Nelson Mass by Joseph Haydn; Messiah by George Frideric Handel; Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach; Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn; and Alto Rhapsody by Johannes Brahms. Her performances are noted for their musical sensitivity, dramatic insight, and vibrant vocal color.

Golliver-Mohiuddin made her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2010, performing Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de Dominica, K. 321, and Vesperae solennes de Confessore, K. 339. Earlier in her career she toured throughout the Czech Republic as alto soloist in Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. She has also appeared at the renowned Aspen Music Festival and the Spoleto Vocal Arts Symposium in Spoleto, Italy.

An accomplished chamber musician, she has presented recital programs at the International Music by Women Festival and the International Festival of Czech Music, as well as national conferences of the National Flute Association, the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

In addition to her performing career, Golliver-Mohiuddin is a dedicated teacher and mentor whose work has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Oklahoma State University Award of Excellence for Academic Advisement, the College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award, the Friends of Music Distinguished Music Professor Award, and the Wise–Diggs–Berry Award for Teaching Excellence.
