Anné-Marie Condacse

A versatile musician, soprano Anné-Marie Condacse has been a resident artist with the George Enescu Romanian National Philharmonic and has appeared as a guest soloist with the Romanian National Opera, Ion Dacian Operetta Theater, Oradea Lyric Theater, Cairo Philharmonic, and Cairo National Opera. Condacse has performed as a recitalist and concert artist throughout the United States, Italy, France, Egypt, Israel, and Mexico and has appeared on programs broadcast on the Romanian National Television and Romanian National Radio.

Commended for her expressive singing and remarkable stage presence, Condacse's operatic performance credits include: Corinna (Il Viaggio a Reims), Violetta (La Traviata), Musetta (La Bohème), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Blöndchen (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Ofelia (Hamlet), Cécile de Volanges (Dangerous Liaisons), Adele (Die Fledermauss), Marcantonio (Casanova's Home Coming), First Niece (Peter Grimes), Monica (The Medium), and Amor (L'incoronazione di Poppea). Her concert performances include the soprano solo in: Mendelssohn's Elijah, Schumann's Das Paradies und die Peri, Fauré's Requiem, Haydn's Harmoniemesse, Haydn's Missa in Angustiis, Mozart's Krönungsmesse, Mozart's Requiem, Händel's Messiah, Vivaldi's Gloria, Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Orff's Carmina Burana, and Carmina Catulli, Bruckner's Te Deum, Vaughan Williams's Dona Nobis Pacem, Poulenc's Gloria and Botti's Cosmosis.

Condacse's sustained performances of works by contemporary composers have led to close collaborations with Felicia Donceanu, Pascal Bentoiu, Şerban Nichifor, Ana Laura Mânzat, Ashraf Fouad, Loris Tjeknavorian, Vladimir Scolnic, Thomas Sleeper, Z. Randall Stroope, Carlos Vidauri-Aréchiga and Gabriele Proy. In collaboration with the Fifteen Minutes of Fame program of Vox Novus, Anné-Marie Condacse developed Angeli, a project consisting of a collection of fifteen works for soprano and fixed media that were composed for Condacse and premiered by her.
Condacse's discography includes her latest CDs Por Ti Mi Corazón; Three Centuries of Art Song by Mexican Composers, recorded in collaboration with pianist Alejandro Barrañón and released worldwide by Blue Griffin records, and Anné-Marie Condacse Performing Chamber Music by Felicia Donceanu, recorded in collaboration with members of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, members of the Romanian National Radio Chamber Orchestra, and pianist Diana Spânu-Dănilă, and released worldwide by Electrecord label. Furthermore, Condacse's premiere of Thomas Sleeper's Angelus ad Mar appears on the Thomas Sleeper Vocal Music CD.

Anné-Marie Condacse earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance with a minor cognate area in Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Science from the Moores School of Music, University of Houston and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Shepherd School of Music, Rice University. Her principal voice teachers include Katherine Ciesinski, Joseph Evans, William Murray, Arta Florescu, and Venera Rogozea.

Condacse presented Master Classes at Music Conservatories and Universities in Italy, Mexico, Egypt, Israel, Syria, China, Romania, and the USA. She also served as artist in residence at the ICon Arts Festival in Romania and in Italy. Currently, she is Professor at the Wiener Musikseminar International Master Classes in Austria.

A Fulbright-Botstiber Visiting Professor of Austrian-American Studies in Austria, Anné-Marie Condacse taught at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien and served as researcher at the Ernst Krenek Institute in Krems. A Fulbright Scholar to Egypt, Anné-Marie Condacse participated as Affiliated Professor of Vocal and Opera Studies at the Cairo National Conservatoire of Music, and as artist in residence at the American University in Cairo.

Dr. Condacse serves as President of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Oklahoma Chapter and is a Professor of Vocal Studies at Oklahoma State University, where she received the First Lady of OSU, Distinguished Professor of Music Award.
