BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs
Dr. Amanda McCabe is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Science at Oklahoma State University and the recipient of the Ramona Ware Emmons Paul Professorship. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Early Childhood Education and prepares future educators to create relationship-rich learning environments that support children's development, belonging, and readiness to learn. Her teaching and scholarship focus on translating developmental science into practical, evidence-informed approaches to educator preparation, classroom guidance, literacy instruction, and professional learning.
Dr. McCabe is the developer of the Relational CORE Framework, an emerging model that explores how relationships, co-regulation, and educator well-being influence children's learning and development. Her work examines how educators develop and sustain the relational capacity needed to support children, families, and learning communities. Through partnerships with schools, early childhood programs, and community organizations, she works to bridge research and practice while advancing relationship-centered approaches to educational improvement.
Through the support of the Ramona Ware Emmons Paul Professorship, Dr. McCabe is leading an international program of scholarship focused on educator relational capacity, professional learning, and relationship-centered educational practice. She collaborates with Woodline Primary School in Geelong, Australia, and is developing additional international partnerships that create opportunities for collaborative inquiry, professional learning, and global experiences for early childhood education students.
