BIO & RESEARCH INTERESTs

Dr. Petrova is an Associate professor at the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising at Oklahoma State University (OSU). After receiving her B.S. and M.A. in Physics, she pursued a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Apparel Design with emphasis on using 3D body scanning technologies for clothing design and fit evaluation. Dr. Petrova joined OSU in 2008. Her work focuses on design, development, and evaluation of functional and protective apparel, including clothing for people with disabilities.

Research Interests:

Design, development, and testing of functional and protective apparel; Ergonomic design; Design for people with disabilities; Clothing fit and comfort; Anthropometry; Clothing sizing; 3D body scanning applications; Wearables.
